The moon will be full in Capricorn this Saturday, July 8th, at 11:07 p.m. in our central time zone.
Being an earth sign, Capricorn is concerned with the practicalities of life and the bottom line. Capricorn is also a cardinal sign in astrology, so dreaming about our goals will not be enough—we need to come up with a plan and start putting that plan into action. Discipline, focus, and pessimism are keywords for Capricorn, so as we look at our lives and come up with a plan of action, it’s just as important that we don’t get down on ourselves or think, “What’s the use?” Twelve-step programs talk about doing the next right thing, the next thing in front of you, and I think this is great advice for the full moon in Capricorn.
The word responsibility is a big deal to Capricorn. Most can agree that being responsible is a good thing, but we may also be taking on responsibilities that are no longer ours. Especially when it comes to those closest to us. Some of us may be over-committed or taking on responsibilities that no longer belong to us.
Pluto will be conjunct (meaning right next to) this full moon adding some intensity to the situation. Don’t be surprised if you find some really uncomfortable feelings coming to the surface, bringing up what we have buried is part of Pluto’s job. In self-help and healing circles, we talk about processing our feelings. Well, this would be the perfect time to talk to a close friend or even a therapist about any intense feelings that come to the surface.
Another major aspect this weekend is the Sun opposing Pluto. Some of our relationships may start to heat up, and we can find ourselves in power struggles with others. Instead of turning away, now would be the time to face our relationship issues head on. Pluto wants us to clear the air by owning our power and standing up for ourselves.
Mars will be opposite Pluto. This aspect can give us the needed push to move forward with our plans. Just like Pluto opposite the Sun, we can meet with resistance from others, but the wake-up calls will get louder if we insist on suppressing our creative energies. What you think of me is none of my business, is a great mantra for this week’s upcoming energies.
